Job Opportunity at Safer London Business Partnership

Safer London Business Parternship are currently recruiting for a new Crime Reduction Officer to work for our Safer Lewisham Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP).

Safer London Business Partnership Ltd is a not-for-profit, private company operating business crime reduction partnerships in a variety of locations in the capital. It works closely with the Metropolitan Police Service and local authorities to combat crime and anti-social behaviour that impact profitability of businesses and the ‘look and feel’ of town centres.

This post will support the coordination of projects and initiatives to reduce business crime in the borough of Lewisham. The post holder will be responsible for management of a large town link radio network (training will be provided), increasing membership of Business Crime Reduction Partnerships, intelligence gathering and analysis of information about offenders and crime patterns and its dissemination to members and other interested parties under the strict guidelines of the Data Protection Act 1998.

The post will mainly be working flexible day time hours, however there is the potential for a few shifts that may go into evening hours. Therefore, the post would suit a dynamic individual with the drive to make things happen. Examples of evening shifts include attendance at business intelligence briefings, Safer Neighbourhood Board meetings or Business Trader’s meetings. You will spend as much time out of the office working with members and partners as you will spend in it administering the scheme.

You should have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, and have a proven ability to support active projects. You should have the confidence to work independently and with autonomy, and have the determination and discipline to work to tight schedules.

Due to the sensitive nature of the role, it is a requirement that the successful applicant agrees to Disclosure Barring Service checks to ensure that he/she has no criminal convictions. Applications with criminal records will not be considered for employment. Applicants must have at least 3 years’ worth of address history within the United Kingdom.
